I'n only sad that the game did no reach a spec of the depth that Ultima online had, that is a game of almost 20 years ago.
I expected much from the crafting of this game, but it has severely disappointed me
There is strong foundation for potential magic classes in a hypothetical GoT MMO. Magic returned to the world when Daenerys' dragons were hatched. Thoros of Myr, Melisandre and Moqorro (all 3 are priests of R'hllor) were definitely not powerful personalities before that. Thoros was, in reality, a faithless drunk, and Melisandre said herself that she was nothing but a trickster, when suddenly they both learned that they can do real magic. There could also be a warg class. So... The possibilities for magic classes is there, it wouldn't even require retconning the lore.
But it would mean every caster is a snowflake, making warrior classes redundant.
In WoW a Mage and a Warrior are both special.

So apparently the fail-train is still running full steam at Trion -_-
Seriously, I'm more and more convinced every day that the game is actually run by unpaid interns fresh out of college.
umm... what?
I think some explanation is needed cause this makes very little sense.
edit:
also nvm that previous bit about only playing human in a game. the variations people place upon race could be put in for different places of origin. Like Wilding, Dornish, etc going through the regions of the world.
Also I wonder how long before more of the maesters start show casing magical affinity (a few other minor characters in the game have been shown in teh books like a street performer or an unidentified assassin or alchemist)

At this point, I think Trion doesn't give a damn about AA.

I received a day one ORAS demo code. I am a chosen one.
If nothing else, the primary thread linked in that article has been entertaining as all hell. Seriously, there's so much shitposting, memes, and even porn being posted. Seems completely unmoderated, and it's moving at a lightning pace.
Top kek, indeed.
I downloaded the game this weekend to play and then this happens, and I've been watching the forum fire ever since, its intoxicating. They moved back to the new post under server status.
I hate myself for it, but I can't help but enjoy this on some level. I feel terrible, because I shouldn't enjoy a game having trouble and people being frustrated, but since day Trion's handling of this has been pretty spectacularly awful. It's like watching a slow motion train wreck into a clown car filled with explosives. There's now way you can look away.
They're fixing the servers one by one, but they won't say what the problem is outside of nebulous "latency/network issues". On the one hand, I can totally get that a company doesn't want to get into the nitty gritty of what went wrong for a ton of reasons. On the other, this kind of thing doesn't really instill confidence in your playerbase, especially when it's part of a far larger trend of server-related issues. We don't know what the problems are, or if they're going to continue to crop up again and again, on what appears to be a near weekly basis.
I've been wanting to get back into the game, but seeing how often things go wrong is really putting me off from jumping back in.
I think the only reason they're not saying what went wrong is because they really still have no clue as to what went wrong.
They haven't fixed anything yet, so I see no reason for them to lie about it because it's not helping their image, in fact it's making them look extremely incompetent.
